Holistic Learning

Living with the Land

Farming, gardening, and working with soil nurture patience and attentiveness—experiencing the joy of growing together.

Working with the land is one of the most grounding experiences we offer at SNC. By participating in the cycles of sowing and harvesting, our learners develop a deep respect for the earth and the food it provides.

Gardening as a Practice

Our gardening activities are integrated into the daily rhythm. Learners are involved in:

  • Sowing Seeds: Learning about the different types of seeds and the best conditions for their growth.
  • Soil Care: Understanding the importance of soil health and participating in composting and natural fertilization.
  • Harvesting: Experiencing the deep satisfaction of harvesting the vegetables we have grown together.

"From sowing seeds to harvesting vegetables, participants learn to care for the earth."

The joy of growth is a powerful teacher of patience.

Patience and Attentiveness

Farming and gardening cannot be rushed. They require patience, regular attention, and a sensitivity to the needs of the plants. These qualities are essential not only for gardening but for all aspects of a mindful and creative life.

The Joy of Growing Together

Working in the garden is often a collaborative effort. By working together to prepare the soil and care for the plants, our community builds bonds of cooperation and mutual support. It is a space where we learn the value of hard work and the deep satisfaction of being in service to the land.
